Xylanase Enzyme

Xylan is found in hemicellulose which is the second most abundant natural biopolymer on the earth after cellulose and that's the reason xylanase enzymes have a major role in many sectors of food industries as well as others. Xylanase cleaves these xylan molecules into simpler monosaccharides and xylooligosaccharides.

Xylanase has major applications in various industries, such as  food and feed, textile, paper and pulp, textile, pharmaceuticals, etc. Nowadays, xylanase is widely used in paper and pulp industries and as a feed additive for animals as it increases the FCR and helps in smooth digestion in the animals.

  • Increases the softness and nutritional quality of bread.

  • Extends the shelf life of the end product.

  • Helps in improving the loaf volume and crumb structure.

  • Improves the texture and palatability in the wafers.

  • In brewing, xylanase is used in degrading the substrates into lower oligosaccharides.

  • Used for degrading the lignocellulosic substrate for ethanol production.

  • Used in the fruit and beverage industry for the clarification of the liquid and reduction of turbidity.

  • Cellulose free xylanase enzyme is used in the biopulping process for lignin removal.

  • Increases the pulp fibrillation and decreases the beating time.

  • Used for the bioleaching process.

  • Xylanase increases the effects of bleaching compounds by breaking the xylan network.

  • helps remove trapped lignin from the pulp instead of directly removing lignin or attacking lignin-based chromophores.
